Garage floor coatings in Altoona, WI

Eau Claire County

What we see on Altoona slabs

Altoona holds some of the newest housing anywhere we work. That matters more than it sounds: a slab poured in the last decade or two has not spent thirty winters absorbing meltwater and salt, so what we are doing is opening sound concrete rather than repairing tired concrete. Those are the most straightforward floors we coat and they are the cheapest to prepare.

Attached two and three-stall garages are the norm here, most of them heated, most on slabs that read dry. That combination is unusual this far north and it widens what makes sense for your floor rather than narrowing it.

Altoona and the newest building on the east side of Eau Claire. We quote every floor on site, because the only honest way to price a slab is to stand on it.

What We Install

Which system suits Altoona

We install full-flake epoxy and full-flake polyurea and we don't have a house favorite. What tips it one way or the other is usually local.

A newer, heated, dry slab is the one situation where you have a genuinely free choice. Epoxy is often the better value on those. Polyurea still wins if the building is unheated or you want the garage back faster.

Altoona Questions

What people ask us in Altoona

My garage is only a few years old. Should I wait?

No — new is the best time. A slab that has not spent years absorbing salt and moisture takes a coating easily, and doing it now is what prevents the pitting and staining rather than dealing with it later.

What does it cost in Altoona?

Epoxy is $5 to $7 per square foot and polyurea $6 to $9, all preparation included. Newer Altoona slabs usually need grinding rather than repair, which puts these jobs at the friendlier end of the range.

Do you cover the rest of the Eau Claire area?

Yes — Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Menomonie all have pages of their own, and we work the towns between them. Altoona is three miles from Eau Claire so it is all one trip for us.
